Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in CPU memory system architecture, ARM ISA, PPA, design and microarchitecture.
- Experience in performance modeling, analysis, correlation, and workload characterization.
- Experience in high-performance microprocessor architecture, microarchitecture, performance, or advanced CPU design.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience in CPU/ML microarchitecture exploration, performance model development, performance analysis, performance correlation, or workload characterization.
- Experience with system software components, such as Linux, drivers, and runtime.
- Experience in CPU application requirements for mobile and wearable products.

As a CPU Architecture and Performance Architect, you'll be the key contributor to improve processor instruction set architecture, to develop innovative microarchitecture features, and deliver Google’s advanced SoC products. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate in Google’s Android applications and Google’s AI teams to conduct application and benchmark performance analysis and project their performance at various design phases. You will work with engineers in power, thermal, security, and physical design teams to determine the CPU subsystem configuration and features.

Responsibilities
- Participate in Performance, Power, Area (PPA) trade-off analysis for architecture and microarchitecture features. Communicate analysis results in both qualitative and quantitative fashion to support decisions.
- Assess performance analysis infrastructure, which includes preparing workloads and conducting performance and workload analysis.
- Understand performance analysis and workload characterization, CPU performance analysis and understanding performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze and predict the impact of software and architectural decisions on system power and thermal characteristics.
- Define future roadmap features and performance requirements.
